What I Wore Wednesday and Fall is HERE!

WOO HOO!  Fall has finally (kinda) arrived in Texas!  We’ve had a few days the past week that have been a little warm, but for the most part we’re staying in the 80’s.  Being from Phoenix and all, that’s fall.  While I was growing up in Washington state, that was summer, but still.  There was actually one morning that it was only 54 degrees when I left for class and I had to wear a JACKET.  How fab is that?!?

As for the 30 days 30 outfits challenge, it’s still going on and going strong.  I will be glad when it’s over in a few days only because I have missed some items in my closet dearly-a few pairs of my Big Star jeans for instance and a few pairs of shoes.  Other than that, I could probably keep going and just might 😉  Anyway, here’s what I wore…

Wednesday, September 22nd-class and according to my planner, not much else

Animal Print top:  NY & Co from two years ago.  My husband hates this top-says it’s a throwback from the 90’s.  Thanks babe 😉

Jeans:  trouser style Diva jeans from Old Navy, thrifted from the Industrial Blvd Goodwill.  I LOVE these pants and can’t wait to wear them again.

Shoes (that you can’t see)-Marc Fisher Surelle in patent pink.  I bought them at Macy’s on the clearance rack three years ago and paid $40 which for me is pretty rare!

Earrings:  Old Navy

Thursday, September 23rd-running errands

Brown tank underneath that you can’t see:  Old Navy

Top:  Forever Twenty One-half way through the day I happened to notice that it had ripped under one arm.  Not in the armpit either, halfway down across the seam, not with it.  For the love….thrifted from Double Exposure (post here).

Jeans:  Old Navy Sweetheart jeans-thrifted from the Cherry Lane (White Settlement) Goodwill.  They still had the $30 tags on them and I got them for $4!

Shoes:  Tafia by Xhilaration wedges from Target

Earrings:  NY & Co

Friday, September 24th-Class and my BFF’s birthday dinner at our house.  For not wanting to get on my high horse about the absolute thoughtlessness of some people, it ended up being just her and us.  It was better that way anyway.  Grrrr…

Top:  L.O.G.G. for H&M peasant top, thrifted from Pipeline (Hurst) Goodwill

Jeans:  Jean Star, thrifted from Goodwill but I have no idea which one since it was sooo long ago

Boots:  vintage Circle S boots-you knew you would see these again!  I like them much better with pants, not to mention one of the girls in my class told me how great they (are).  Thrifted from the Campus Drive Goodwill

Saturday, September 25th-T-Spot’s official birthday dinner at Asian Mint over in Dallas.  Once again, someone (same person) was incredibly rude and didn’t show.  Double grrr….

T-Spot:  pants and top form NY & Co.  The shoes…no clue.  I think she might have found them at Payless or Target a couple of years ago.  She has a size 10+ foot that is super wide, so she has problems finding shoes that fit, hence why she lives in flip flops and tennies.  We call her Barney Rubble (with love, trust me).

Me-Dress:  Vera by Vera Wang, thrifted from the Industrial Blvd (Bedford) Goodwill

Belt:  from another shirt

Tights:  Hanes from Target

Shoes:  Franco Sarto, thrifted from the Haltom City Goodwill

Sunday, September 26th-it was a little warm and I didn’t do much of anything but study.  To be honest, the only time I put on shoes was to go out and water the plants and these shoes happened to be the first ones I could grab in the closet

Dress:  MSK, thrifted from the Haltom City Goodwill.  I was walking out of the fitting room and saw it hanging on the rack-it wasn’t there when I looked before, so I grabbed it, saw it was within a size and bought it.  J3 was super fussy and I didn’t want to go back and try it on.  It fits well enough.

Shoes:  I think No Boundaries?

Necklace:  This is a closer shot of the necklace.  Funny story about this is that I hopped in to the Hulen Goodwill one day and there were vases filled with jewelry like this.  I happened to see a feather pin in one vase that I liked, so I bought it ($3).  This and about five or six great necklaces, pins and such were in there!  Good Find 😉

Monday, September 27th-Class on about 1.5 hours of sleep.  I had a test that morning and had stayed up late studying, then couldn’t sleep.  This was the morning that it was 54 degrees when I left for class…ahhhh…

Black top underneath that you can’t see (jacket never came off anyway):  NY & Co

Jacket: L.A. Kitty, thrifted from the Saginaw Goodwill (I did a post here on their grand opening and the great items I scored)

Jeans:  Gap Long and Lean jeans, thrifted from one of the Phoenix Buffalo Exchange’s years ago (I hold on to jeans that fit!)

Belt:  Brighton, thrifted from the Haltom City Goodwill

Booties:  Guess, thrifted from the Rufe Snow Goodwill

Tuesday, September 26th-I managed to make it out of the house and up to the new South Beach Taco Factory where I ordered one of their chorizo tacos and one of their delish shredded garlic beef tacos.  Since the shredded beef is my fave, I saved it for last. My stomach has not allowed me to eat spicy sausage for years (but lately has, huh…), therefore I opted to eat the choirzo one first, which the grease then proceeded to drip all over my skirt.  So we went home.  Thanks goodness I had taken this picture beforehand.  LOL!

Top:  Maxi Molly, thrifted from the Pipeline (Hurst) Goodwill

Skirt:  Ann Taylor Loft, thrifted from the Goodwill Boutique

Knee Socks:  Inspired by Olivia, purchased at Target

Boots:  Madeline, bought a couple of years ago from Burlington Coat Factory

Earrings:  Sam Moon

White pasty legs:  thank you Irish, English and Scottish heritage.  Oh yeah, the German in me doesn’t help either.

This bracelet?  Is it not the coolest?  AND I MADE IT!  Want one as well?  Check out the tutorial here.  No, it’s not my tutorial 😉

Well, that’s it for this week!  I have two more days of my thirty day challenge then I will probably change up my format a little.  I ordered a tripod and wireless remote for my Rebel and am going to try and get a little more exciting about where I take my pictures instead of in front of my boring fireplace.  Fort Worth has some of the coolest landmarks here, so I might as well showcase them as well as what I’m wearing.  Plus, next week I get to go home to Phoenix to see my fam!!!  No Neck and Sonnet got engaged not too long ago and since J2 can’t get time off around the holidays, we thought it would be best to make it home before the wedding in February.  Not only that, but my and Darth B’s birthday are six days apart, so we’ll be able to celebrate together for the first time in four years.  I AM SO FREAKIN’ EXCITED!  Expect lots of outfit pics at my favorite haunts.

As usual, I’m linking up to Lindsey over at The Pleated Poppy and Morgan over at …Meet Virginia.  Have a faboo rest of your week everyone!

This quote says it all for me…

‘Til next time,

What I Wore and the Challenge is Halfway Through!

So here it is, Wednesday again.  September here in Texas is finally cooling off a bit, but temps are still in the 90’s most days.  Rumor is though that it’s supposed to cool off this weekend.  We’ll see about that!  When we moved here five years ago, we were told that if we didn’t like the weather to wait 15 minutes and that is certainly true.  I just know that if I see another great set of boots (yes, I’m talking to you Olivia), I’ll turn a deeper shade of green than I already am.  But just wait, I’ll be whining about how I hate the cold come January.  That’s just me 🙂

I am more than halfway through my 30 day challenge of not wearing the same outfit twice and so far it’s going GREAT!  Want to try the same challenge?  Grab the button on my sidebar and jump on in-it’s a lot of fun.  Anyway, here’s my outfits for the week…

Wednesday, September 15th-Class because I swear, that’s all I ever do anymore is go to class…ugh

Sweater tunic:  Free People, thrifted from the Rufe Snow Goodwill (only $1 on sale day!)

White t-shirt:  Old Navy from probably four years ago

Jeans:  Big Star (I would name the fit, but they’re in the bedroom with my sleeping hubby)-these are my favorite ones too.  They’re a skinny cut with a little bit of stretch an they make a girl with hips look thin!  YES!

Ruffle Pumps:  Xhilaration Tabitha t-strap peep toe pumps from Target

Thursday, September 16th-just running around

Beaded tunic:  NY & CO from a few years ago

Jean:  Old Navy The Weekend boyfriend-cut jeans

Shoes:  Michael Kors Allie platforms off of eBay-you knew you’d see those again soon!!  LOVE THEM!

Friday, September 17th-Ugh, class…I threw a sweater over it because the rooms are so cold, but discarded it later.

Dress:  Ann Taylor Loft, thrifted from The Goodwill Boutique

Shoes:  Reaction by Kenneth Cole, bought years ago at T.J. Maxx

Saturday, September 18th-Breakfast with J2 and J3 at Our Place, then we were supposed to head to the Grapevine Grapevest, but someone’s best friend decided to drink too much tequila the night before and was hung over (thanks T-SPOT!!).  Then we found out the ASU/Wisconsin game was an early game, so we lounged around, ate pizza and watched ASU lose due to a missed extra point (and some super crappy refs).  The heartache…(sigh)…

Jeans:  Lucky (and I can’t remember the fit…but they are at least five years old)

T-shirt-ASU one, bought at the bookstore the last time I was home in Phoenix

Flip flops:  Old Navy

J3’s outfit:  Thanks to Gramommy for the ASU gear!  Love you MOM!!  (found out my mom reads my blog-is she a follower?  No…for shame…)

Sunday, September 19th-I was stuck with my nose in a business law textbook all day, so this is not a terrific look.  I did force myself to change out of my p.j.’s mind you, so I get points for that!

I’m seriously a walking advertisement for Old Navy right here-everything showing is from there.  Shorts from 2008, t-shirt and flip flops from this spring.

Monday, September 20th-my BLAW test and because I was up late the night before, I woke up late.  I normally don’t dry my hair (because it ends up looking like a frizzy mess), so I quickly showered and threw this on, mainly because the pants were comfortable.

Cargo pants:  Lady Hawthorne (I found a button that had the name on them since there are no tags)-thrifted from the Camp Bowie Goodwill

Tank Top:  Charlotte Russe

Cardigan:  Xhilaration from Target

Shoes:  black patent from Target (they were on clearance for $4)

Belt:  black patent, thrifted years ago

Necklace/Earrings:  NY & Co.

Tuesday, September 21st-I had a couple of errands to run and it was a little muggy, so I went for easy and light.

Turquoise tunic:  Twenty One-I have another one like it that’s longer, but this one has a cute fit.  Thrifted from the Rufe Snow Goodwill

Capris-oh how I love these capris.  Why do they have to be Motherhood Maternity?!?  I was rearranging that tummy panel all day long…

Belt:  I seriously have no idea.  It’s been in my closet for years-like as in 10 years because I remember wearing it that long ago!

Platforms:  Yes, back to basics, the basic black platforms that were thrifted years ago.  Come to think of it, I think they might have been No Boundaries ones…not sure on that.

So I know a few people have mentioned how self-conscious they feel taking their own pictures and I am in the same boat!  I always have such a goofy look on my face.  Anyone have a solution for that?  When I smile I feel like the Cheshire Cat…should (we all) just get over it?  The serious look is just not me.

And that’s it!  As usual, I’m linking up to the lovely ladies over at The Pleated Poppy and …Meet Virginia.  Thanks Lindsay and Morgan for hosting such fun parties!

Monday Musings…

Ms. Tiffani over at Accidental Chic does a series called “Monday Mantra” that I just love!  Right now I am reading a terrific book that I stumbled on called Queen of Your Own Life: A Grown Up Woman’s Guide to Claiming the Happiness and Gettin the Life You Deserve by Kathy Kinney and Cindy Ratzlaff. Just in case neither of those names don’t sound familiar, Kathy Kinney was Mimi on The Drew Carey Show.  Anyway, this book is WONDERFUL!  It’s all about pushing the negativity and crap out of your life so that you can be happy.  I wasn’t really looking for a book on this subject, but it’s bright yellow cover jumped out at me from the library shelf, so I had to grab it.

Anyway, it’s filled with wonderfully motivating quotes, so in the spirit of Mantra Mondays (and for my Monday Musing), here is my inspiration for this week…

"The question isn't who is going to LET me; it's who is going to STOP me."

Have a terrific week everyone!

‘Til next time,

Thrifty Thursday and the Saginaw Goodwill Grand Opening

There are very few things that warm my heart like a good thrift store, other than (of course) my family and friends and the usual things along those lines.  But for some odd reason, I love second hand items.  Maybe it’s the sorta tree hugger in me or the frugalista, but whatever it is, I love it.  Granted, I love other stores as well, but I think the thrill of the hunt involved in thrift store shopping is almost like a drug.  So when I got the email from the Goodwill Guy of Fort Worth that the highly anticipated Saginaw location was opening on September 10th, I had to go and check it out.  (Want on their mailing list?  Trust me, you do because you get great coupons, notifications of sales and all kinds of other great info.  Sign up here by clicking the Contact Us web link at the bottom of the page )

Saginaw Goodwill:  415 North Saginaw Boulevard, Saginaw, TX

I got there around 11:40 am since I had class that morning, and was greeted by an overflowing parking lot.  I managed to find someone pulling out of a spot in the back, so I snagged it and teetered on it in those Boutique 9 heels of mine.  When I walked in, my heart was immediately happy.  The staff greeted me at the door and the store is HUGE.  I could almost hear the angels singing it looked so great.  Ahhhh…

The women’s section is located off to the right, so I checked out the shoe selection first.  I am a complete and total shoe whore, therefore shoes are always my first priority.  There were quite a few to choose from, but none that I liked were in my size.  I had to pass on a pair of Nine West buckled black boots, hand tooled brown leather booties and a pair of White House/Black Market spectator pumps because they were all the wrong size.  I almost cried because of those pumps, but there was no way a 10 would ever fit, not matter how much I stuffed in the toes.

Jackets and dresses were next since they were against the wall.  It was here I found my kryptonite.  Since I have so very few jackets, I’ve been trying to stock up and here I just kept finding one after another that met all my fall requirements.  By the time I was done trying them on in the mirror, here’s what was in my cart:

This little gem was also in there, although I really don’t know if it’s a jacket or a dress-here it is on me.  What do you think?  Jacket or a dress?  And how would you wear it?  I just had to have it because of the fabulous detailing-the ruched sleeves, the fit, the big buttons, everything!  It looks black in the pictures, but it’s navy and unfortunately, it ends just under my rump, making it a wee bit short.  Also, I was nice and cut out my pasty white legs!  I just am a little stumped on how to wear it, so please, give me your thoughts.

I moved on down to the dress section but in my heart I knew I was close to hitting my budget with what I already had in my cart, so I was overly picky.  There were a ton of great dresses to choose from and only two made the cut.  The orange sweater tunic because I could see it with leggings and boots when it cools down a bit more and the dress I thought I could wear for my real presentation on Monday.  We all know that didn’t happen, mainly because when I got home in better light, I noticed the tailoring was a little off and that it needs some work.

After adding those two darlings, I KNEW I was at my limit.  I give myself $20 a week to spend on clothes and I knew I was blowing two weeks worth of budget with all these goodies.  But of course, I couldn’t help myself and glanced through the pants, skirts and tops.  I finally had to walk away before the Betsey Johnson top I was lusting over screamed at me any longer.  I refused to give up anything in my cart for the top and my self control won.  How THAT ever happened, I will never know!

I did briefly glance through the men’s, children’s and housewares section.  The selections looked fantastic, but I didn’t dare do anything more than glance.  I can justify spending one week ahead of my budget but not two!

So in conclusion, this new Super Store of Goodwill’s is FAB!  As soon as I have some extra cash, I’ll be sure to cruise over there to look more thoroughly at what this Super Store has to offer.  If you’re in the Fort Worth area, be sure to stop by this Goodwill and see what Good Finds you can find!

Oh, and I should mention-Goodwill is not compensating me in any way for writing this review.  I just love Goodwill and their mission, so I support their stores.  But I will be sure to let the Goodwill Guy of Fort Worth know…

‘Til next time,

What I Wore…and the Challenge Continues!

Hey Everyone!  Here it is, Wednesday again and my challenge to find 30 different outfits in my closet without repeating is now 14 days in the making and I’m actually doing pretty darn good!  I thought I would have to repeat jeans and such, but have figured out how to mix and match some items in different ways.  So here’s what I’ve worn this week…

Wednesday, September 8th:  It rained like crazy here (as in flash flood warnings), so I stayed home from class because I was NOT about to drive the 30 miles down to campus with all the crazy Texas drivers out on the road.  So I stayed home and bummed around the house.

Shirt:  Charlotte Russe featherweight T-shirt that I got for $2.99 and then edged with leopard trimmed lace from Hobby Lobby ($2.99 a yard) after seeing Jessica over at A Few of My Favorite Things do this.  Too cute!

Jeans:  Anne Taylor, thrifted from the NRH Thrift Town

Shoes:  fabulous leopard print Liz Claiborne flats, thrifted from the NRH Thrift Town.

Close up on the top and shoes:

Thursday, September 9th-Just bumming around the house, keeping track of J3 and studying

Top:  Old Navy from a couple of years ago

Jeans:  Jag, thrifted from the NRH Thrift Town ($2!)

Snakeskin print wedges:  Merona, thrifted from the NRH Thrift Town

Friday, September 10th-I was supposed to have a presentation in one of my classes, but my professor forgot and then I headed to the Saginaw Goodwill grand opening to see what I could see (more on that tomorrow)

Dress:  Vintage Roulette, thrifted from the Rufe Snow Goodwill on the $1 rack!

Shoes:  Boutique 9 Natural Javan Anklestrap sandal I originally saw these on …Love Maegan and kept thinking about them, but at $149 they were WAY out of my price range.  After obsessing about them (since they were on my Amazon wish list), I happened to check on them to see how they were doing and saw that they were on sale in my size-I ended up getting them for $42!  SCORE!

Necklace: Brighton, a gift from my mom

Saturday, September 11th-My husband’s employer was encouraging people to walk in the American Heart Association’s Walk for Your Heart event, so we did.  Honestly, I don’t think I did anything but change the t-shirt afterwards and put on flip flops.  Obviously one of my hottest outfits on record (hahaha).

T-shirt:  Lovely purple monster courtesy of my husband’s employer

Shorts:  Seriously, these have got to be eight years old and I have no idea what the brand is, since I cut the tags out (nothing more annoying than tags rubbing when you’re hiking, which I used to do a lot of back when I lived in Arizona)

Tennies:  Asics

Sunday, September 12th-Brunch with the hubby and child.  After seeing Cassie’s outfit over at Hello Sugarplum! I knew I had to style chain that puppy because it was super cute!  Plus, it’s starting to cool off enough to not be able to wear white anymore, so if I didn’t wear it now, I wasn’t going to be able to wear it until next year.

Dress:  Charlotte Russe from about five or six years ago.  My husband wanted this to be my wedding dress, but I went with a longer, little bit dressier one.

Shrug:  Seriously, I think I got it at Macy’s a few years ago, but I’m not quite sure…

Red Pumps:  These are some of my favorite shoes EVER!  They’re Franco Sarto and I got them at the Last Chance store in Phoenix.  Last Chance is where Nordstrom sends all of the items that don’t sell at Nordstrom Rack.  There are only two-one in Phoenix and one in Florida somewhere.  The items there may have some issues, but most are just returns with a scuff or two.  I have easily had these timeless pumps for six or seven years.

Belt: Vintage, thrifted from the Rufe Snow Goodwill

Necklace:  Claire’s, thrifted from the White Settlement Goodwill

Monday, September 13th-Class as usual, this time the presentation was for real.

Dress:  Bought three years ago at Ross.  I have no idea on the brand…

Shoes:  Joey O, thrifted from NRH Thrift Town about three years ago as well.  These shoes do NOT like to be worn with the tights.  I thought I was going to kill myself because I kept slipping around.  Those tights were a nightmare anyway (found them in the bottom of my drawer) and are now in the trash.

Tuesday, September 14th-Running errands.  It was humid as all get out and I was seriously considering changing, but didn’t.  I got three compliments on the hat, so maybe that will be seen a little more often.

Featherweight t-shirt:  Charlotte Russe (I picked up a couple when they were $2.99)

Layering tank top:  Charlotte Russe

Jeans:  Big Star (Maggie)

Booties:  Mossimo, thrifted from the Rufe Snow Goodwill

Hat:  One Star from Target-the only reason I bought it was because it was $4 and I thought it might be fun.  It was!

Earrings:  Sam Moon (a few years ago)

Well, that’s it for this week!  As usual, I’m linking up to The Pleated Poppy and …Meet Virginia!

What I Wore Wednesday and the 30 Day Challenge

Well, here it is, Wednesday again!  Greetings to all that are stopping by from The Pleated Poppy or ….Meet Virginia!  I love linking up with these ladies and I love seeing what everyone else is wearing.  I’ve been a bit obsessed with fashion lately (that might be attributed to my addiction to Project Runway), and I love getting inspiration from what others are strutting out on the streets.  I’ve been much more aware of what I’ve been wearing, that’s for sure.  Tomorrow starts Mercedes Benz Fashion Week and I can’t wait to see what I need to start searching for in the thrift stores for spring.  I’ve been pretty lucky for fall, scoring some leopard prints, layering sweaters, lace tops and a few military inspired pieces, not to mention some great boots (one of the only reasons I like cooler weather).  I’m sure you’ll get to see them over the next few weeks as I strive to wear 30 different outfits in 30 days (if you want to join in the fun, grab the button on the sidebar).  So here’s what I wore this week…

Wednesday, September 1st-classes in the morning, library in the afternoon

Dress:  Ann Taylor Loft, thrifted from the Haltom City Goodwill

Cardigan:  Old Navy

Belt: Brighton, thrifted from the Haltom City Goodwill

Shoes: BCBG, thrifted from the Camp Bowie Goodwill

Jewelry:  necklace and earrings from Sam Moon, Tiffany bracelet, Citizen watch and usual rings

Tuesday, September 2– another trip to the library, this one in downtown Fort Worth (which is absolutely stunning)

Sweater:  Anne Taylor Loft, thrifted from the NRH Thift Town.  Funny thing is, I saw this sweater one day while I was in the store but didn’t buy it.  That night I dreamt about it (I know, I’m strange), so two days later I went back to see if it was still there.  Sure enough, there it was…whew!

Brown short sleeved turtleneck:  Banana Republic, thrifted years ago

Jeans:  Big Star

Booties:  Nine West, thrifted from the Haltom City Goodwill

Gold bangle bracelet: Sam Moon from a couple of years ago

Friday, September 3-Class in the morning

Black and Gray top:  H&M, thrifted from the River Oaks Goodwill

Jeans:  Gap Curvy jeans from easily five years ago

Gray ruffle shoes:  Xhilaration from Target

Saturday, September 4th-Took J3 and the BFF to the Cowtown Indie Bazaar, which is where Etsy Fort Worth merchants sells a lot of their goods

Dress:  Faded Glory dress, thrifted from the NRH Thrift Town

Boots:  Vintage Circle S, made in Brazil.  They are a tad bit small, but I am in LOVE with them!  I got them at the Campus Drive Goodwill and even the checkout girl commented on what a great find they were.

I will admit, I felt a little cliche in this outfit.  The whole prairie dress/boot thing is cute, but I’m not so sure it’s cute on me or maybe that it’s that I felt like these didn’t mesh as well together as they should have.  I’m thinking the boots are more suitable for a pair of skinny jeans and a white shirt…hmmm…

Sunday, September 5th-hanging out with the hubby and running errands

White Seersucker pants:  Issac Mizhari for Target, thrifted from the Rufe Snow Goodwill.  They have a wonderful silver thread woven through them, but once again, I had to sew the hip pockets shut and cut them out.

Purple top:  It appears to be handmade, judging from the way the elastic is sewn on the bottom and the fact that there are no tags or evidence of tags anywhere.  It was only a $1 at the Campus Drive Goodwill though the same day I got the boots featured (yesterday), and it is a beautiful purple, so why not?!

Shoes:  Nine West, thrifted from the NRH Thrift Town last year

Necklace:  Sam Moon

Monday, September 6th-Labor Day!  Thrift Town was having half off of all clothing so J3 and I hit the sale, then off to dinner with J2

Dress:  No tag, but thrifted from the Haltom City Goodwill.  It was an XL that was on my pile of projects that I needed to wade through, so I took in the sides, fixed the straps that were sewn all wonky and stiched up the strange bodice.  It still looked really strange, so I threw a shirt over the top.

Yellow top:  Ann Taylor, thrifted from the NRH Thrift Town

Shoes:  Rampage, thrifted years ago

Tuesday, September 7th-the weather was getting ugly, and I was stuck inside working on a class project for most of the day.  Pardon the sloppiness!

Green sweater:  Love Rocks, thrifted from the Rufe Snow Goodwill for $1!  Gotta love that…

Jeans:  American Eagle, also thrifted from the Rufe Snow Goodwill (and only $4)

Shoes: Merona flats, thrifted from the NRH Thrift Town

And that’s it!  Days one through seven are down in the 30 days, 30 different outfits challenge.  I can’t wait to see what everyone else is wearing this week.  As usual, I’m linking up to The Pleated Poppy and …Meet Virginia.

‘Til next time,

What I Wore Wednesday…on a Thursday

Ever have one of those weeks where you go “and where did this past week go?!?” That’s been me lately. Ugh! Yesterday J2 was off work and my best friend was over, so I didn’t get to posting my WIWW. I also didn’t get my button done for the 30 days/30 outfits challenge, but I will get it done over the next couple of days. For those that are new, for the next 30 days I’m going to try and wear all of the different items in my closet. If anyone wants to join in, I would love it! I’m not setting any “rules” per say, just that for 30 days you wear 30 different outfits. If you need to repeat jeans or shoes, that’s fine, but I’m just trying to see how many different outfits I can come up with in that time frame. Shopping is not off limits (although I know I need to cut back), but shopping for an entire outfit is a little silly, right? Kind of defeats the purpose. Anyway, if you’re interested, leave me a comment and I’ll email you to let you know when the button is ready.

Also, thank you to all last week that commented on the tunic/leggings combo I wore.  I thought I looked like a hippo, but since I got favorable feedback, I guess I’ll wear leggings a little more often.  You guys rock!  (Note:  if I do look like a hippo though, please tell me.  You can email me-mommymoxie2010@gmail.com)

And let the show begin… 😉

Wednesday-It was a little yucky out, so J3 and I went thrifting

Yellow & Gray plaid shirt: Op, thrifted from one of the area Goodwills,  I just can’t remember which one!

Jeans:  Big Star (thanks to my hubby)

Shoes: Banana Republic, bought at a Legacy Boxer Rescue garage sale three years ago

J3 has on an Old Navy top and pants that he got for his birthday and a pair of Robeeze that I found at Double Exposure for 50 cents.  When I went to find a replacement for them, I found out that they’re $25!!  Ebay here I come…

Thursday:  Black Cardigan:  Old Navy, bought on sale this season

Red Tank Top:  Old Navy from about three years ago

Jeans:  Anne Taylor, found at NRH Thrift Town

Red Shoes:  Reaction by Kenneth Cole, thrifted

The necklace I found at the White Settlement Goodwill, and it still had the $55 Macy’s tag on it!  Score for $3…

Green Top:  Old Navy from last year

Polka Dot Skirt: No tag, thrifted from the Haltom City Goodwill

Belt: Thrifted from the Haltom City Goodwill

Shoes:  Anne Klein, thrifted from Haltom City Goodwill (and half a size too small-they killed my feet!)

Saturday:  shopping, hanging out with friends

Black and White Dress:  Love Me Kiss Me, thrifted from the Haltom City Goodwill (yes, I went on 50% off day and got a ton of stuff)

Shoes:  Seriously, I’ve worn these so many times the name is gone off of them, but they are some of the most comfortable shoes I own.  I love them!!

Sunday:  it was a super lazy day for me.  I had a massage at 2pm, which cut right into the middle of the day, so I didn’t get dressed up.

SuperDocs shirt:  This was my dad’s.  He played a lot of softball when we were little, so when he died, I made sure I ended up with it.  He wore number seven, which is my birthday.  Thanks Dad!

Jeans:  American Eagle, thrifted from the Rufe Snow Goodwill I never thought in a million years that they would fit, but they do and I love the little front pockets.

Flip Flops:  Old Navy

Monday:  Start of the new semester, or so I thought.  Turns out I didn’t pay too close attention to the start dates this semester and classes actually started on Friday.  I can easily say this is the first and only time that has happened.  And who starts classes in the middle of the week?!?  Only Texas, I swear…

Tuesday: So I need some help with this one…I found a pair of oxfords that I just love and that of course, are all the rage right now, but I can’t decide how to wear them.  So socks or no socks?  Cast your vote!

So here’s with the socks…and Old Dog

Here’s without the socks…

Dress:  One Star from Converse, thrifted from the Haltom City Goodwill

Layering Tank:  Charlotte Russe

Oxfords:  Thrifted from the South Cooper Goodwill

Necklace:  Michael’s

And that’s it!  As always, I’m linking up to The Pleated Poppy and Weekend Wear with Meet Virginia.
